About Eloise:

I'm Eloise POV. I have been working within the IT channel space for almost 10 years now. I specialise in selling into channel
partners, any engineering resourcing and software that might help them and their customers. I have quite a consultative approach.
 

How did having Alan Lloyd as a coach come about?

I met him about three years ago now. Our paths crossed as part of the MSP world. He had also worked within the channel partner space. 

What is Alan's coaching style?

I would say that his coaching and his mentoring style is such that you don't actually realise that you're being coached. So it was almost like we were having a conversation discussing business, of course, discussing work, but it was very natural. This the
only way I can I can describe it. So, as I was explaining what I was I was doing in my in my company at the time and where I wanted to go, we ended up coming up with a bit of a strategic plan, I suppose, on how we could make that end goal
happen.

What has been the best part of your coaching experience with Alan?

What is really great about the coaching that I've received from him is he has lived in my shoes. So he has
started off as that salesperson and he's got a wealth of experience not only in the MSP space and working with partners but also working directly with end users and working in vendor land. So he's really got a good grasp of experience. So chances are if you're
coming across a problem, he'll have come across a very similar problem. He has a very, I would say, unique process that actually is very very easy to follow and it's once you put that into into practice, the results really do speak for themselves. I had my best
sales year of my career last year and I would say that that was down to the process that Allen's clearly refined and I was able to put in place and implement and utilise.

Can you share some of what he taught you? 

I would say that, actually, a lot of it comes down to mindset. So, he's a big believer in setting up your mindset first of all. and I had previously had, I would say, a bit of a negative mindset in terms of cold outreach. And partly just because it wasn't something I was
confident with or comfortable with. and he really helped me see it from a different perspective and a different approach that actually to see it more as I'm there to help the customer and to try and actually take the salesperson piece out of it. Just be human to human. It doesn't matter what their job title is. Really look for what their pain points are, but try to get those pain points out of that customer in a more of a natural way. So in terms of treating it as if you're, you know, you're having a conversation, but you're asking enough questions that you can then really tap into something that they might find a pain point. And from that point onward, you are then looking to try and be that trusted advisor and offer them a solution, but without the pressure.

What advice would you have for others thinking of hiring Alan as a coach?

So for anybody that's considering uh using Allan, I would highly recommend. He, like I said, he has a very, what I
consider, a very good approach to coaching. You don't feel like you're being coached and you will be able to get a lot of great ideas from Allan that perhaps you hadn't considered. He will, I can almost guarantee that he will be able to increase sales and give and give a strategy that is going to work for an individual and he will work with you to really pull out your personality type and what's going to work best for you. And he knows a hell of a lot of people in the industry as well. So, not only can he help you with your mindset and to really, you know, increase sales, but also chances are he's probably got somebody that he can put you in touch with as well.
